The Queensland Region of the Australian Limousin Breeders Society has 61 members
dedicated to breeding high quality Limousin bulls suitable for:

• Production of young cattle suitable for the domestic market by cross breeding with British and Tropical breed cows. Most of these cattle are finished in feedlots for 60 – 80 days.

• Production of high yielding heavy steers and heifers by cross breeding with British and Tropical breed cows. These are suitable for the Japanese, Korean and the European Union export markets as well as Australian hotels and restaurants. These may be finished on grass or finished in a feedlot for 80 to 150 days.

• Production of steers and heifers for the live export market by crossing with Tropical breed cows.

• Production of high content Limousin cattle suitable for the growing market for low fat high yielding carcases from self replacing herds.
