Invoicing

As of the start of 2023, all financial members became members of Breedplan & are now able to submit data to be analysed.

Instead of members paying an annual breedplan membership, members are charged per animal once the animals’ first trait has been analysed. An animal will only be charged once no matter how many traits are analysed in its lifetime.

The Board decided to allow all members to be a part of Breedplan to:
  • increase the exposure of the Limousin breed
  • increase accuracies of animals within the breed
  • allow all of the membership to have access to breedplan & receive the benefits
  • be cost-effective to members
  • allow all members the potential to accelerate genetic progress in their herd
  • provide objective information on cattle they are selling
  •manage genetic process

BREEDPLAN produces EBVs for a range of economically important traits. The EBVs currently reported within BREEDPLAN are shown here: https://breedplan.une.edu.au/products/breedplan/ A description of each EBV is available from the Help Centre on the BREEDPLAN website under the “Understanding EBVs” heading. Alternatively, a collated version of these articles can be found in the Using & Understanding BREEDPLAN EBVs booklet.

Therefore, please see examples below for what you may get an invoice for:
  • an ET calf & its recip
  • the dam of a natural calf if no traits have been analysed on the dam previously
  • a calf that had a birth weight entered & analysed
  • an animal that has just had a 400day weight added to the database & has been analysed as a first time trait

Accounts will always add the animals ident to your invoice with a description of ‘Breedplan Inventory Fee (first submitted trait).
If you would to check on which trait(s) has been analysed, please see ‘traits observed’ as shown below in ILRonline under Animal Enquiry. An analysed traits is $9.00 plus GST.
