The recent outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Bali, has prompted urgent calls for travellers to and from Bali and Indonesia to wash or discard footwear before returning back to Australia. Clothes are also to be clean and free of soil and manure.

If you or anyone you know are returning from Bali, travellers must declare any contact with livestock or farm visits taken place in Indonesia, and also if you are bringing in any meat or meat products.

Livestock breeders must understand the signs and symptoms of the disease.
