In a first for any cattle breed the Limousin National Show was live streamed to the internet. This live stream was viewed by 300 different people during the actual event and a further 400 people viewed a replay of the show that evening.

The judge Ben Davies, the National Livestock Manager for Australian Meat Group, Melbourne commented on the softness and fleshing of the cattle, he also stated that the industry needs cattle that have muscle and weight for age and who will also grade because at the end of the day that is what producers get paid for. He also noted that all the bulls had very good scrotal sizes ranging from 34 cm to 43 cm.
The sale had an extremely strong overall average of $5,397 which was an increase of $405 on last year’s sale and an excellent clearance. In a break down 29 bull sold of the 32 offered, and all the females sold.
Lot 1 kicked off the sale selling to Frank Hill, Heathcote, Vic for $7,000. The French Pure bull Keystone Jack Daniels, sired by KLG Polled Ferrari had a huge EMA of 160 cm2. The scanner, Jim Green stated that he had never in his 25 years of scanning had a bull with such a large EMA.
The top price of the sale was Lot 20 Flemington Joker J33, the Reserve Senior Champion Bull. Flemington Joker J33 is a homozygous black, homozygous polled bull sired by Wulfs Spring Loaded and was purchased by Jeff & Kerrie Etheridge, Red Rock Limousins, Walcha, NSW.
The supreme exhibit, Flemington Rev Jaguar J9, an apricot, homozygous polled son of Wulfs Revolver sold for $13,000 to Kurra-Wilga Partnership.
The top priced female was the Grand Champion female, Lot 49, Birubi Hellene H15, selling for $14,000 to Oakleigh Limousins. She was sired by Hunt Mr Jock and had a polled heifer calf at foot and was back in calf to JYF Yieldmaster with a bull calf.
The second top price female was $11,000 for Lot 72, Chateau Jezabel, a French Pure heifer sired by Ozeus and was purchased by Figtree Investments.
The junior champion heifer Flemington Cupcake K4, lot 77 sold for $10,000 to Longreach Limousins. She was an apricot, homozygous polled daughter of Flemington Fire Cracker F21.
In the genetic packages Birubi Limousins sold four frozen embryos of RPY Paynes Derby / Birubi Gypsy Rose G4 for $1,300 per embryo to Oakleigh Limousins.
The pick of the Summit Spring Calf crop sold for $5,500 to Bimbadgen Enterprises.
One semen package of 25 straws of semen in B Bar Titanium sold for $70 per straw.
