“AN absolute pearler” of a led steer took home the grand champion accolade at the Toowoomba Show on Thursday.
That’s the way his owner, Bob Dull, Hillview Led Steers, Gowrie Mountain, described the 710-kilogram steer, affectionately known at Tucker. The Braford/Black Limousin steer also won the champion heavyweight category and was paraded by Jamie Hollis, Pittsworth.

Mr Dull and his wife Elaine have been showing steers for the past 16 years and purchased Tucker 12 months ago.
“We love him and he’s a steer that we might keep, we haven’t decided yet,” he said.
“We need a steer at home because we’re going to go into growing young steers. With a big steer like him, he’s quiet and docile and they [the weaners] seem to settle better.”
Judge Rob Laycock, Clay Gully Simmentals, Esk, described Tucker as a big, long, stretchy steer.
“He’s got plenty of fat cover and the meat and bone is excellent,” he said.
In the mediumweight section, an entry from Benjarra Pastoral Company took home the prize, with Limousin/Charolais steer Gold Rush, paraded by Mikayla Passmore, Ellangowan.
