Steers reached 355 cents a kilogram during the hoof and hook auction at the Canberra Show.
The steers were judged on the hoof before going under the hammer and straight onto the truck.A total clearance of the 75 lots offered were sold, making to a top price per head of $1689.80. This was for a Limousin steer offered by Ben Toll, Sheraton Limousins, Dubbo, weighing 476kg and selling at 355c/kg.Buyer of the top steers was also Ben Toll, on behalf of Dubbo Meat and Seafood.
Steers average $1461.44 a head and the volume buyer on the day was M. and A. Butchery, Wilberforce.
