Birubi Limousin and Lim-Flex on-property production sale at Wagga Wagga reached a high of $9000 on Friday 21st August.
The top price was for a 20-month-old Limousin sire purchased by Luke and Sherrie Whitty, Mt Pleasant Limousins, Forbes. He weighed 868kg and had a 38cm scrotal. Mr Whitty said the bull will be joined to selected females in their 110-head stud herd.

“I liked the visual appeal of the bull,” he said. “His docility and the fact he has got great shape and carcase with good fat cover.”
Of the 26 bulls offered 22 sold for an average of $4340, while eight of the 12 stud females sold for a $3000 average. A total clearance 45 commercial cows and heifers was achieved.
Volume buyer David Grugson from Bemboka put together a draft of four sires at average price $3000 as well as a black polled cow and calf for $3000
Other bull buyers included the Duren family, “Bald Hill”, Trunkey Creek, who purchased two bulls to average $5750; Barry McLean who paid second top price at $8000 in his draft of two bulls to average $6000 and Eric Faulks, “Brungle Creek”, Gundagai who selected two bulls to average $4000.
Cassandra Coombe, Cassalee Limousins, Harrington Park, purchased one package of 25 JYF Yieldmaster straws at $60 each as well as a stud heifer for $2000.
Mr Stewart put together a line of 21 commercial females to a top price of $2175 and averaging $1430 to compliment his bull purchase at $4500. He also purchased a package of 25 JYF Yieldmaster straws at $60 each.
Sarana Limousins & Eltham Limousins purchased packages of Birubi Jupita J15 semen to average $50/straw.
Embryo packages sold to Southwest Limousins and Eltham Limousins for $700/egg.
Purchasers of stud females included Ben Toll, Dubbo, who selected a heifer for $4500, and the Starr family, “Kyme”, Thuddungra, whose draft of three females averaged $2833.
