A long awaited seasonal turnaround saw an outstanding line up of mainly black Limousin bulls off crop put in front of an active gallery of buyers from Warwick and Beaudesert, Qld, Ebor, Dubbo, Dunedoo, Rylstone, Scone, Willow Tree, Forbes, Singleton, Curlewis, Manilla and surrounding district of Tamworth.
Topping the sale was a powerful Manali F53 son Lot 3 Oakvale Joel coming off the scales at 926kg, 40cm scrotal,10 over 6 fat,138 cm ema, 4.9 marbling and purchased by Luke and Sherrie Whitty, Mount Pleasant Limousin stud, Forbes. Second top price of the day was lot 25 another impressive Manali F53 son Oakvale Jim Bean who scaled off at 900kg, 38 cm scrotal, 10 over 5 fat,153 ema, 4.8 marbling after a stint from the joining paddock, was purchased by Paradise Creek Pastoral Co who was the largest buyer of the day securing 3 bulls for an average of just over $9,000.
Third top price bull lot 17 was an eye-catching black Ramornie Powerhouse Q41 son selling for $10,000. Other notable sales were Lot5 $9,000 to Phalaris Farm Rylstone, lot 13 $9,000 to Coolaware stud, Dungowan, lot6 $8,000 to G Goscombe, lot 14 $8,000 to Qld, the very showy 12 month old Garner son lot 12 $6,000.
The most successful sire of the day was the proven carcase bull Manali F53 whose six Oakvale sons averaged $10,166 proving once again to breeders not to underestimate the standard of Australian bred sires. In all 24 bulls sold to $21,000 and averaged $6,480 with 100% clearance.
10 Limousin percentage cows and calves in store condition sold to $1825 and averaged $1660. 11 Angus cows PTIC to Limousin bull made $1425.
