Limousin bulls sold to a top of $7,000 and averaged $4,375 with an 80 percent clearance at the new look Spring Classic All Breeds Bull Sale at Toowoomba Showgrounds, Qld on 3 September.

Jen-Daview Jayboy, offered by David, Jenny, Brent and Corey Evans, Jen-Daview Limousin stud, Kingaroy, sold for $7,000 to Elders Toowoomba manager Darren Hartwig, Gold Crest, Plainby.

Mr Hartwig bought the outstanding 30 month old son of Glenvillian Yohman and Timor Jaygirl 13, which weighed in at 1030kg and scanned an eye muscle area of 145 square centimetres for his daughter Stephanie.

He said they intended to breed award winning led steers out of their Angus and Shorthorn cross cows, and liked the bull’s softness, muscle pattern and depth of flank.

The second top price of $5,000 was achieved twice.

Firstly for Stanhigh Jasper who was offered by Stanthorpe State High School, Stanthorpe, Qld. The horned, apricot bull was sired by Longreach Contestabull and from Stanhigh Fran.

The second bull to sell for $5,000 was Benjarra Black Jimmy offered by Benjarra Pastoral Co, Clifton, Qld. Benjarra Black Jimmy was a horned, black bull sired by TMF Kodiak and from Ro-Maree Diamond.
