Limousin judge Roger McIntosh, who recently handed over the reins of the Myanga Angus herd at Laggan, NSW, was looking for muscle teamed with structure in the ring.
He found plenty of it spread across the exhibitors, with a different breeder winning each of the major ribbons.
The Rothe Bros Syndicate, Padthaway, and Kamcheyenne Limousins, One Tree Hill, had the grand champions, both of which were senior winners.
The two exhibitors also took out the reserve in their respective senior and grand championship stakes.
Rothe Bros Syndicate’s grand and senior champion female was Mandayen Victoria, a 29-month-old black cow described by Mr McIntosh as a lovely, soft, feminine animal, with a correct and sound structure and plenty of growing left to do.
Their reserve senior champion, Warrawindi Jamisen, was just five days younger, and the Wulfs Nobel Prize daughter was complimented on its overall balance, maturity pattern and neck extension.
Kamcheyenne’s senior and grand champion bull, Kamcheyenne Jugganaut, weighed 625 kilograms at 21 months of age with an eye muscle area of 114 square centimetres.
The reserve was Kamcheyenne Hullabaloo, a 23-month-old sire from the same stud weighing 805kg with an 142sqcm EMA.
